Of particular interest to LVGL users is Soldered's flagship Inkplate lineup. Inkplates are ESP32-based e-paper boards ranging from small monochrome panels to large color displays. Their boards are also designed with low-power use in mind, allowing them to run for weeks or months on battery. Soldered maintains two official LVGL libraries: Arduino Inkplate LVGL Library and ESP-IDF Inkplate LVGL Component.

Inkplate LVGL Libraries

Both libraries handle LVGL initialization internally and support both RGB565 and grayscale (L8) color formats depending on the board's display technology. A single begin() call handles all LVGL setup, including built-in dithering for smoother grayscale/color rendering and SD-card-backed file access for images and fonts.

Inkplate 13SPECTRA is Soldered's latest and most advanced board. It has a beautiful 13.3-inch 6-color e-paper screen with a resolution of 1600x1200 pixels and features a powerful ESP32-S3 microcontroller.

Inkplate 6FLICK features a touchscreen and frontlight, enabling users to make their own e-reader device.

Inkplate 4TEMPERA

Inkplate 4TEMPERA is a compact, all-in-one 3.8-inch touchscreen e-paper device for low-power, always-on display applications with a built-in Li-Ion battery, frontlighting, and a set of onboard sensors, all inside a 3D-printed case.
